In 1776, when America was still a British Colony and Thomas Chippendale Senior was still accepting commissions for his exquisite furniture, another Yorkshire born Thomas - Thomas Sanderson of Attercliffe near Sheffield, set about making the first ever Pax handsaw.

First developed in 1776, Pax handsaws have a reputation for quality and performance. The alloy-steel blades are taper ground and breasted to reduce binding; the teeth are hand set and sharpened.

The 26" long blade of this 4,5tpi saw rips and resaws wood more efficiently, and helps keep the blade fully engaged when working with thick stock.
